Abstract

A cross - sectional descriptive study combined with laboratory analysis was conducted on 747 people aged 16-35 in 3 districts of Bac Kan province in 2018 to determine the infection proportion and some markers of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in these subjects. The results showed that the proportion of HBV infection (HBsAg +) was 9.5%. Among 71 confirmed cases of HBsAg(+), the marker proportion of HBeAg(+) and Anti-HBe (-) was 53.5%; the marker proportion of AntiHBe (+) and HBeAg(-) was 36.6%; the marker proportion of HBeAg(-) and AntiHBe (-) was 9.9%. The proportion of Anti-HBc IgG (+) was 97.2%; the marker proportion of HBV-DNA > 105 was 43.7%, the marker proportion of HBVDNA < 105 was 30%; HBV-DNA positive below the threshold was 8.5%, HBV-DNA negative was 16.9%. The results had shown that the proportion of HBV infection among adults in Bac Kan province was relatively high, it requires interventions to reduce the incidence and manage people infected with HBV in the community.
