Abstract

This study aims to synthesize the evaluation of the effectiveness of interventions for infection control in healthcare settings, with a focus on the World Health Organization’s (WHO) multimodal approach. Infection control was a critical priority in medical facilities to ensure quality of care, and the review sought effective antimicrobial methods to prevent nosocomial infections. The multimodal approach included implementing updated infection control procedures, training health workers on infection control, and monitoring and providing feedback to improve knowledge, attitudes, and practices on infection control. The implementation of appropriate measures depended on the resources of each facility, but prioritized basic solutions such as standard and transmission prevention, particularly through effective hand hygiene.
