This study aimed to evaluate the first step in the Remdesivir treatment of patients with COVID-19, using a case series report carried out on 8 patients with COVID-19 following Remdesivir treatment in the Second Field Hospital- Tien Giang province in 2021. In total, most patients with COVID-19 on supplemental oxygen by nasal cannula or face mask, highflow oxygen who early used Remdesivir had clinical improvement within about 4 days of symptom onset (75%). The mean clinical improvement time was nearly 8 days. Patients with COVID-19 on invasive mechanical ventilation who died were lately received
Remdesivir treatment (25%). A lot of patients had laboratory parameters of liver and renal function which did not change after Remdesivir treatment (75%). There were relationships (p < 0.05) between effective clinical improvement and many factors such as receiving Remdesivir early, elevated Lympho (> 0.8 x 109/L) and low viral load (Ct > 25). The study showed that hospitalized patients with COVID-19 who had a respiratory failure on supplemental oxygen by nasal cannula or face mask, high-flow oxygen should be early received Remdesivir treatment. (75%) Patients with COVID-19 had clinical improvement and weren’t required invasive mechanical ventilation.
