A cross-sectional study was conducted on 275 out-patients with type 2 diabetes at Endocrine Hospital of Yen Bai province in Vietnam to describe the sleep disturbance, physical health status, and its related factors. The result showed a large number of participants reported sleeping disturbance (52%). The composite score of physical health status was 61.5 ± 19.1. Multivariate linear regression showed related factors of physical health status such as age (Beta = -0.8, p < 0.001), female (Beta = -4.0, p < 0.05), number of complications (Beta = -7.0, p < 0.001), comorbidities (Beta = -4.6, p < 0.001), and HbA1c index (Beta = -3.4, p < 0.001); as well as patients who were civil servants (Beta = 7.6, p < 0.05), retirees (Beta = 9.6, p < 0.001), and had disease duration more than 10 years (Beta = -4.6, p < 0.05). Thus, medical professionals should pay more attention on the elderly, females, farmers, high-HbA1c index and long-term diasease duration as well as patients with comorbidities and complications of diabetes to improve their physical health status.
