Actual dietary of women who had children under 24-months at two communes in Thai Nguyen City

A cross-sectional study was conducted about a dietary survey on 91 women who had children under 24-months at 2 communes of Thai Nguyen city in 2020 to describe their actual dietary. In women who stopped breastfeeding, the average
energy intake of the subject was 1843.7 kcal/ day. Protein intake was 96.8g and lipid intake was 60.2g. The percentage of women who met the nutritional requirements was relatively low. In the continuously breastfeeding women group, the average energy intake was 2228,1 kcal/day. Protein and lipid intake was 103g and 65,3g respectively. There were a minority of participants in this group met the recommendations about nutrient intake. The proportion of Protein: Lipid: Glucid was 19.4: 26.9: 53.3 imbalanced. The rate of animal protein/total protein was higher than the recommendation while that of vegetable lipid/ total lipid and Calcium/ phosphorus were lower than requirements of the National Institute of Nutrition in 2016. The study shows that diet of women who bear children under 24-months was imbalanced and insufcient.
