Knowledge, attitude, practice on HIV/AIDS prevention among students of Travinh university in 2018

Cross-sectional study in 2018 among 200 students of Tra Vinh University, in order to describe the knowledge and attitudes of HIV/ AIDS prevention of Travinh Uiversity students and contribute to the correct understanding/ practice as well as timely updates information on HIV/AIDS prevention and control. The study results showed that students correct understanding high risk of HIV infection population such as IDUs were 94%, FSWs were 66.5%; Understanding of behaviors most at risk of HIV infection were sharing needles and syringes with 93.5% and having sex with many people 75%. Regarding to HIV prevention, 92.5% understand that they do not share needles and syrings, 84% do not share razors and tweezers. Regarding the attitude
that 50% of students have a normal attitude towards people living with HIV/AIDS, 40% have a positive attitude of being sympathetic and sharing with them, 6% are aloof and 4% still do not know their attitudes like how. For the HIV/AIDS prevention campaign, to the participate voluntarily with 90%, and 10% to participate only when forced or not involved. In
terms of practice, 80% use personal belongings and 55.5% have safe sex to prevent themselves from HIV infection. Percentage of students who have participated in HIV/AIDS prevention activities, as a result, 61.6% have spoken with friends and people around HIV/AIDS, 31% of students agree to participate in the past. leaflets 15.5% to help people with HIV, 57% to participate in local HIV/AIDS activities as well as schools and 12% to students do nothing.
