Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate three main factors of knowledge, attitude, skills and relevant ones on reproductive
health care for the focus group of adolescents. The data of this study were collected from students from three high schools of Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City. The fndings of the study showed that the ratio of students with proper knowledge, attitude, and practice for reproductive health care was 53.3 %, 79.0 %, and 92.6 % respectively. Moreover, high academic achievers performed better than other groups in their knowledge of reproductive health care with OR=1.68. The 12th graders performed better than the 10th graders on their knowledge and attitude with OR equal to 0.57 and 1.92 respectively. Male students showed better than their females in their knowledge of reproductive health care with OR=0.36. The study also pointed out that students who were equipped with correct information on reproductive health care were likely to practice the correct skills than those with incorrect information (p=0.039, OR=3.17). Overall, the study suggests that there should be a proper plan for educating the knowledge and practice of reproductive health care to the focus group
of adolescents.
