Abstract

A descriptive, cross-sectional study on personnel and facilities for solid waste collection, transportation, and storage at Hue
University Hospital was conducted in 2019 to evaluate the management of solid waste and propose solutions to improve its effectiveness at Hue University Hospital. Results showed that the classifcation, collection, and management of solid waste at Hue University Hospital in 2019 complied with the provisions of Circular No. 58/2016/TTLT-BYT-BTN&MT for 500- 600kg solid waste in a day with 60-70kg dengoures solid waste. In order to maintain good management of solid waste in hospitals,
regular training is needed to improve the capacity and responsibility of health workers, patients and their family members in medical waste management as well as solid waste reduction, especially plastic waste. Enhancing the inspection and supervision of health workers in medical waste management is necessary.
