Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is common and serious complication in dermatomyositis and is associated with signifcant morbidity and mortality of dermatomyositis patients. Therefore it is very important for patients to detect early this disorder, because it associates with prognosis’ patients. A cross-sectional study was carried out on 43 patients who were diagnosed dermatomyositis according to the criteria of Bohan and Peter (1975). The study was conducted for inpatients in BachMai Hospital aimed to describe the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of dermatomyositis’ patients with ILD. In the
study, 24 per 43 patients (55.8%) had ILD. The main lung lesions on chest HRCT was groundglass opacity (58.3%). The symptoms of fever, dry cough and shortness of breath in the group with ILD were more common than in the group
without ILD. Cigarette smoking, presence of anti-nuclear antibodies (ANA) and anti-Jo-1 antibodies were risk factors for developing ILD in dermatomyositis.
