A comprehensive cross - sectional study was conducted involving a total of 760 residents, utilizing a proportional probability sampling method, with 30 clusters representing the communes in Tra Vinh Province. The study employed interview-based questionnaires and blood tests to explore the interrelations between knowledge, attitudes, practices, and the incidence of toxocariasis infection among the adult Khmer population in 2023. Results: The predominant sources of knowledge about toxocariasis infection were oral communication from acquaintances (35.79%), followed by mass media (27.11%) and healthcare professionals (22.11%). Good knowledge and practice levels regarding toxocariasis infection were 25.66% and 9.61%, respectively, while 69.87% had a positive attitude towards preventing toxocariasis infection. Knowledge factors contributing to reduced infection included awareness that the disease is treatable, knowledge that reinfection is possible, awareness of risky behaviors, and understanding of preventive practices. There was no significant correlation between attitudes and infection rates. Practices contributing to higher infection rates included inadequate washing of fruits and vegetables before consumption, inconsistent handwashing postsoil contact/pre-meals, and improper disposal of dog/cat feces. The findings highlight the necessity of implementing targeted health education strategies to improve knowledge and practices regarding toxocariasis infection prevention within the Khmer community of Tra Vinh province.
