Abstract

Human resources in healthcare are a core and indispensable element of every country’s health system. They are the most crucial component, playing a decisive role in ensuring the effectiveness and quality of healthcare services. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted to describe the current status of human resources in the health sector of Binh Duong province from May to August 2024. The results showed that Binh Duong province had 18.8 inpatient beds per 10,000 people. The health workforce had 11,463 staffs with a ratio of medical staff per 10,000 people of 39.12; the number of medical doctors per 10,000 people was 8.66, of which the public healthcare system was 3.72 and the non-public healthcare system was 4.94. The number of doctors per 10,000 people in Binh Duong was still lower than the national average. The number of medical personnel in the non-public healthcare system was exceeding that of the public healthcare system. It is necessary to strengthen policies to attract and train medical human resources to improve the quality of the health sector in Binh Duong.
