Abstract

A cross - sectional descriptive study was conducted at 1530 households from 30 communes/wards/towns in order to evaluate some basic indicators of Preventive Health Care activities in Thai Binh Province in 2022. The research method involved interviewing 1530 adults aged 18 and over in each household and measuring 1530 children under 5 years old. The results showed that the prevalence of positive SARS-CoV-2 testing was 3.51%. The prevalence of worm infestation was 6.1%; the prevalence of current hypertension was 28.9%; the risk of diabetes was 27.6%. The prevalence of malnutrition in children under 5 was mild stunting at 10.3%, severe stunting at 19.4%, wasting at 6.6%, overweight at 5.8%, and obesity at 2.4%. The households using selfcontained toilets achieved 99.6%. The sources of water used by households were 95.1% tap water. The proportion of adults who have basic knowledge about health fields was not high, less than 65%. Based on the study’s results, a scientific basis was provided for building a Preventive Health Care action plan with appropriate solutions in the future.
