A cross - sectional descriptive study was to assess the frequency of nutrition impact symptoms (NIS) and their correlation with the nutritional status of lung cancer patients. The study was performed on 97 patients with lung cancer treated at the Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine of Military Hospital 103 in 2020 - 2021. Results showed that the most reported common nutritiona impact symptoms (NIS) were loss of appetite (61.9%), fatigue (55.7%), changes in taste (53.6%), pain (32.0%), and dry mouth (29.9%). The prevalence of malnutrition among lung cancer patients according to SGA (SGA-B and SGA-C) was 76.3%. Correlation and regression analysis indicated that some NIS symptoms were significantly associated with the nutritional status of lung cancer patients, including loss of appetite (standardized coefficient B = 0.41; p < 0.01), and fatigue (standardized coefficient B = 0.332; p < 0.01). The study shows that malnutrition is a common issue among lung cancer patients, and NIS factors such as loss of appetite and fatigue are correlated with the nutritional status of these patients.
