Abstract

Center for Research and Production of Vaccines and Biologicals has produced bOPV from 2017, an oral, live attenuated bivalent Polio vaccine according to the recommendation of WHO and Ministry of Health of Vietnam. This study aims to determine stability of oral bivalent polio vaccine produced in Vietnam in the conditions of 2 - 8°C and -20°C. bOPV is produced with the same ingredients as tOPV, but without Polio virus type 2. By micro neutralization method on Hep2C cells, we have
determined that potency of bOPV is stable at storage condition -20°C up to 42 months, 2 - 8°C upto 9 months. Thermostability of vaccine incubated at 37oC/24 h in both 2 storage condition is decreased not more than 0,6 lgCCID50 /0,1ml in comparison with that stored at -20oC. With the study results, we propose the shelf life for bOPV is 36 months.
