This study assessed infection control knowledge and practices among dental technicians in Ho Chi Minh City. Methods a cross-sectional study surveyed dental technicians via questionnaires, aligning with CDC and international dental associations’ infection control guidelines. 152 participants answered the questionnaire. 13.2% of respondents deemed infection control unnecessary. 77% used masks, 34.8% safety glasses, and 25% gloves. 62.5% employed preventive measures for infectious disease patients, while 34.2% returning items to clinics and 0.7% transferring to other labs. For HIV cases, particularly, 53% used preventive measures, 45.5% returned items, and 0.7% transferred items. Dental technicians in Ho Chi Minh City exhibited suboptimal adherence to infection control guidelines. This indicates a need for targeted interventions to enhance infection control practices among this population.
