Some resources and activities of Dang Van Ngu Hospital during 2020-2022

A cross - sectional descriptive study collected information from secondary data such as reports, books, and other statistics of Dang Van Ngu Hospital (National Institute of Malaria-Parasites-Entomology) in the period 2020 - 2022 with the assessment of resources and activities of medical examination and
treatment. The results showed that Human resources were guaranteed in terms of number and qualifications, but the structure was not balanced as the ratio of doctors/nurses was higher than in other medical examination and treatment facilities, the ratio of pharmacists/ doctors was lower than 2 - 10 times than specified; The facilities for clinical and paraclinical departments and faculties were adequate; The Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging departments were mainly old equipment with less than 30% usage status; The hospital’s financial revenue reached VND 13,085 million. Total expenditure in 2022 was 8,808 million VND. In 2022, the number of medical examinations and treatments was 15,197 visits, outpatient treatment was 5,919 times, inpatient treatment was 674 visits, the occupancy of hospital beds was 62.28%. In terms of disease patterns, the “great liver fluke” disease had the highest number of hospitalizations and outpatients. The total number of tests was 162,537 times, of which 9,111 times were performed diagnostic imaging. Most of the medical examination and treatment indicators in 2022 increased more than in 2020 and 2021.
