Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is evolving rapidly and complicatedly, understanding the current situation of deployment and training to improve testing and diagnostic capacity for SARSCoV-2 is necessary and urgent to accelerate the diagnosis and detection of new case. This study aims to describe the enhancing activities in testing and diagnostic SARS-CoV-2 by RTqPCR technique for the labs of the Southern VietNam from February 2020 to June 2021. A cross-sectional and retrospective descriptive study of secondary records is the entire report on implementation and training to improve the
capacity of SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic testing by RT-qPCR technique. Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City has supported the medical system to confirm SARS-CoV-2 testing for 355 units, including 213 hospitals and 142 CDC/ Preventive health care. In Ho Chi Minh City with the highest proportion 161 units (45.4%),
the Southwest with 119 units (33.5%) and 75 units in the Southeast (21.1%). June 2021, the Southern VietNam has 109 laboratories for SARS-CoV-2 licensed for confirmed diagnosis: 52 laboratories in Ho Chi Minh City (47.7%), 41 laboratories in the Southwest region (40.4%) and 16 laboratories in the Southeast (11.9%). Technical support and laboratory evaluation confirm that SAR-CoV-2 plays an important role in promptly responding to the testing strategy of the government and the Ministry of Health.
