There are currently two COVID-19 vaccines for adolescents and children which are approved for emergency use. The safety profiles and efficiency of these vaccines in children under 12 years of age and in people aged under 18 years old with special condition such as immunocompromised, have underlying medical conditions, have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 is limited. To provide additional information in vaccination advice, we conducted this review to consolidate the manufacturer’s instructions
for use and the world’s leading associations of recommendations for the use of COVID-19 vaccines in children with background disease. We aggregated materials on PubMed, Google Schoolar, and WHO, CDC, ACIP, ATAGI, NACI websites. Since then, we can see the important role of applying COVID-19 vaccination on children with background disease. At the same time, it is also recognized that there is a need for a specific recommendation on vaccination against COVID-19 in this group of children in Vietnam.
