Nutrition knowledge, practice, and related factors of outpatients with type 2 diabetes at Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital in 2020

A cross-sectional study was conducted on 150 outpatients with type 2 diabetes at Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital from March 2020 to June 2020. This study aims to describe nutrition knowledge, practice, and related factors of outpatients with type 2 diabetes at Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital in 2020. Overall, 38.0% of patients achieved knowledge, 34.0% achieved practice. In which, 50.7% of subjects achieved knowledge of dietary principles, 66.0% of subjects listed about three foods with a high glycemic index (GI > 70), 42.7% of subjects recorded 03 foods with a low glycemic index (GI < 55). Factors affecting the patient's nutritional knowledge and practice are occupation, eating alone or with family, and accessing to information from health workers.
