Abstract

A cross - sectional study with objective is to describe the prevalence of medicine adherence and related factors among type 2
diabetic outpatients who are being treated at Thai Binh Medical University Hospital from May to September 2020. The results showed that 80.2% of patients were over 60 years old; 60.4% of subjects were women; 84.7% of patients complied with the antidiabetic drug; Factors related to good compliance were: high income, no comorbidities and no complications of diabetes. The prevalence of medicine adherence among patients was quite high. It is necessary to focus on drug counseling for lowincome people and patients with comorbidities and complications of diabetes to improve medicine adherence rates in these groups.
