Violence against women (VAW) is one of the serious global public health problems. This review focuses on analyzing domestic and international studies on VAW with the aim of describing characteristics, synthesizing related factors and intervention solutions for VAW from 2013 to present. The review shows that studies are mainly conducted in low- and middleincome countries, with the research group being women of reproductive age. The majority of women are most commonly subjected to emotional violence and the perpetrators are mainly husbands/intimate partners. However, ethnic minority women and intergenerational impacts have not been fully studied. Therefore, interventions need to be tailored to each target group, especially ethnic minorities. At the same time, further studies need to focus on multi-level interventions and increasing men’s participation in preventing GBV. The study also recommends that interventions should focus more on education, raising awareness and synchronously applying policies to protect women.
