The study aims to describe the clinical and paraclinical characteristics and treatment outcomes in newborns born to mothers with diabetes at the Pediatric Center - Bach Mai Hospital. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at the Pediatric Center - Bach Mai Hospital from April 2022 to May 2023 on 64 newborns whose mothers had diabetes mellitus requiring insulin treatment. The results of the study showed that the majority of children were born by cesarean section (98.4%) and were born prematurely (73.4%), with neonatal respiratory failure (51.5%). A high percentage of children’s weight exceeds their gestational age (29.7%). Therefore, the birth process requires close coordination between the obstetrics and pediatrics departments. Newborns also have a high rate of respiratory
failure (51.5%), hypoglycemia (25%), and birth defects (1.6% patent ductus arteriosus)... This child should be monitored for respiration, hemodynamics, and blood sugar... at pediatric facilities.
