Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the rate of healthcare workers infected with COVID-19 when participating in epidemic prevention in 7 provinces/cities in 2021 - 2022 and related factors. Research results show that 62.58% (383/612) of healthcare workers participating in epidemic prevention in 2021 - 2022 have been diagnosed with COVID-19. The majority of health workers get COVID-19 in the context of participating in anti-epidemic work at the agency they are working at (79.5% in 2021 and 90.0% in 2022). The overall COVID-19 vaccination rate among healthcare workers is high and the difference is statistically significant between the groups of healthcare workers who have received ≤ 2, 3 or 4 doses of COVID-19 vaccine (p < 0.05). The results of multivariate analysis indicate that the direct involvement of healthcare workers (NVYT) in treating COVID-19 patients at hospitals, reusing personal protective equipment (PPE), directly treating COVID-19 patients in the community, collecting COVID-19 samples in the community, implementing COVID-19 vaccination, and providing support for COVID-19 vaccination are associated with the rate of COVID-19 infection among healthcare workers. Determining the rate of COVID-19 infection among healthcare workers, as well as identifying relevant factors, is critical aspect in formulating to lessen the implications on the health of healthcare personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic.
