A cross - sectional study was conducted from March 2020 to December 2020 comprised 300 households at three selected districts in Khanh Hoa province (Nha Trang city, Ninh Hoa district, Cam Lam district), aimed to determine the seasonal characteristics of larval habitats most frequently and most densely populated by Aedes larvae and to estimate the numbers of adults produced in different water - containers habitats. The results showed the presence of 13.354 aedes larvae belonging to both Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus at the observed breeding sites, of which Aedes aegypti were dominant (94.7%). Aedes
aegypti larvae breeding sites were found with significant differences in the dry season and rainy season. In Cam Duc districts, breeding sites for Aedes mosquitos were mostly in water jars (24%), ponds (19%), wastewater containers (19%), tanks (13%), buckets (13%). In Ninh Binh districts, breeding sites were mostly in flower vases (37%), discarded tires (16%), water pools (14%), buckets (10%). In Vinh Ngoc districts, breeding sites were mostly ponds (22%), flower vases (20%), wastewater containers (15%), buckets (15%), water feeding jars for chickens (11%). Cam Duc districts had the highest percentage of water containers infected with Aedes larvae (from 7 - 35 mosquitos/household). Breteau index in all 3 districts have exceeded the threshold of risk; particularly, in the rainy season. Need to servey key breeding sites regularly to control lavare/ pupae effectively.
