Abstract

A cross-sectional study was conducted on 400 hypertensive patients undergoing outpatient treatment at Hai Duong provincial general hospital to describe the patient's treatment management status, the study period was from October 2020 until October 2021. Data were collected through extracts from medical records and face-to-face interviews with patients using a pre-designed questionnaire. Research results showed that the rate of patients regularly (5-7 times/week), sometimes (2-3 times/week) measuring blood pressure at home was 42.2% and 43.5% respectively. 85.7% of patients re-examined on time; 89.5% adherence to medication; 71.2% adhere to the lifestyle. The percentage of treated patients reaching the target blood pressure was 76.0%; the rate of patients with good treatment management was 60.0%. The rate of patients with good treatment management was still low, so the hospital needs to strengthen treatment counseling for patients.
