COVID – 19 pandemic’s impact on mental health and study quality of Vietnamese University Students

The COVID-19 pandemic varied effects on many aspects of life, including the mental health of Vietnamese students. Through online questionnaire-based surveillance, a cross - sectional study was performed to describe the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of university students and their study outcomes in Vietnam. With 4.808 students coming from Vietnamese universities, this research had reported that females higher stressed than male students (67.65% vs. 32.25%, respectively). Notably, the source of Media, Newspapers, and the Internet were the crucial reasons to cause this high anxiety. In addition, over 30% of the students had disorders with sleeping behaviors, and
more than 40% of eating disordered arbitrary have been reported. Most students (60.09%) believed their study outcome was less effective, and nearly 50% disliked online learning and worried about their life and learning processes. This study highlighted the significant impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on Vietnamese students’ mental health and quality of learning. Immediately supports from the university needs to be considered, and active action must develop to encourage the Vietnamese students.
