Tóm tắt

The study was performed to evaluate the efficacy of fermented milk containing Lactococcus lactis JCM 5805 (LC-Plasma) on the incidence of constipation, diarrhea and abdominal of young Vietnamese children. A controlled field trial was conducted with 892 children (6 - 9 years old) in Ninh Binh province in Vietnam. The probiotic group (n = 436) consumed fermented milk 280 mL/day containing 1,0 × 1011 cells of LC-Plasma for the 8-week intervention period, whereas the control group (n = 456) was not given any. The incidence of constipation, diarrhea and abdomial pain in children was determined at intervals, after 4 and 8-week intervention, and after the 4-week follow-up period. Results showed that probiotic drinks reduced the risk of new constipation by 5.0% (ARR = 0.050), and tended to decrease the incidence of diarrhea by 10.4% (ARR = 0.140). of diarrhea. Using LC-Plasma-fortified nutritional products for children has not reduced the incidence of digestive disorders but it has contributed to a decrease in the cumulative number of days of incidence of digestive disorders. Research should be carried out in longer periods of time, and a combination of assessment of immune indicators.
