Author: Chau Duong
Measuring health outcomes not fatal in the conditions corresponding to the time lost due to premature death was the subject of extensive research. In 1993, for the first time, several researchers have used index Years Lived with Disability (YLD) to measure the global burden of disease (DALY). In Vietnam, there have been many studies measure the burden of disease and mortality, however, so far no study conducted yet to examine the burden of disease in Dak Lak province. This study uses research methods Global Burden of Disease 2010. Data source was taken from the study crossed 32 populations randomly selected in Dak Lak to determine the prevalence rates for each disease cause, age group, sex and ethnic group; do not use the discount and age weights, using weight diseases GBD-2013. Study showed the total burden of disease in 2015 in Dak Lak is 140,357YLD, equivalent to 7,572 YLD/100,000 people; CI 95%: 119,125 – 158,801; If not adjusted for co-comorbidities, the total number of YLD will be higher than (145,755YLD) equivalent of 3.8%. Age group 30-59 accounted for 53.1% of the total burden of YLD; YLD in women was more than for men; the YLD among, Ede ethnic was higher than that other ethnic groups.
